Illustrations for a proposed deluxe illustrated edition of The Grim Grotto, the tenth book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket. The project includes a slip case, front cover, spine, back cover, endpapers, frontispiece, chapter headers, and a suite of illustrations for inside. Working with a combination of charcoal, acrylic paints, and digital media I have aimed to capture the atmosphere and mystery of the undersea world pictured in the book.
Biography
I came to the foundation course straight from my final year of high school, travelling the two hours each way daily from Clackmannanshire for the past year. I have a place on the illustration course at Manchester Metropolitan University starting in September and Leith School of Art has given me a great opportunity to hone all my creative skills in preparation for undergraduate study. I hope to go on to make graphic novels and concept art.
