Artist Event: Saturday 17 September | 1 - 3pm
‘The works in the exhibition are drawings made in oil pastel, oil bar, collage, and graphite. This body of work initially began as a response to restrictions preventing me from working at my studio. Small drawings of the various objects I have in my home, were what I had to hand. Once restrictions were lifted, I found I was still absorbed by these familiar things around me.
John Berger's observation that a drawing of a tree is actually a drawing of a tree being looked at, chimed with the particular kind of attention I was giving to these ordinary objects, and inspired the title of the exhibition.’
