Phoebe has drawn inspiration from Edinburgh New Town, sketching the buildings and streets near to where she lived when she first moved to the city. Painting in oil on primed card, Phoebe has worked these sketches into more detailed paintings, focussing on capturing the historical architecture of Edinburgh, together with its atmosphere of mystery and a sense of the past, but with a modern edge.
Biography
Originally from Bath and working in Local Government in Bristol, Phoebe took a career break last year to expand her art practice in Edinburgh. Studying on both the Landscape Painting Course and the Drawing course, Phoebe has relished this time to progress as a rising artist. Thrilled to have secured a place on the three day Painting Course, Phoebe will be continuing her studies with Leith School of Art next year.
