This year, and particularly, this term I have been combining my interest in photography with painting.
Working on phototransfer and transposition I have been using mainly oils to explore the use of colour, applying various colours to similar subjects.
I am drawn to trees, mainly their silhouettes, and have been inspired by Victoria Crowe and Andrew Gifford, admiring their use of colour.
Biography
Originally from Lancashire I have lived in Edinburgh for 50 years.
On retirement from a career in Medicine in 2013 I started painting and drawing. Initially I attended a summer school beginners class at Leith School of Art and subsequently a variety of further classes at the school.
I have most recently concentrated on painting, mainly in oils and I plan to attend the one day painting course again next year hoping to develop the various painting techniques I have been introduced to this year.
