I am interested in the relationship between image and language, where words and notations are explored as visual material. Historically, painting has been responsible for the creation of imagery and printing for the dissemination of text, the works I am producing attempts to reinstate the ambiguous nature of both and blur the line between the two. Painting is at the core of my practice, I explore the possibilities and limitations of the medium by isolating the basic components - line, surface, gesture, and colour. I hope to develop a body of work that brings forth a new language, drawing upon my personal relationship with words.
