An opportunity to spend a whole week printmaking, exploring a range of techniques.
The first three days will be spent getting to grips with monoprint, drypoint and linocut printmaking, focussing on one process each day. Practical skills will be demonstrated such as inking, wiping plates, using stencils, paper preparation, use of colour and ‘pulling’ a print through the press.
Students are asked to bring reference materials such as sketchbooks, drawings or photographs which will act as a starting point for their work. We will spend the final two days exploring these processes further and students will be supported to create a suite of prints.
This Summer School is suitable for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge and skills, including those new to printmaking.
