Experiment with colour theory and limited palettes giving your work individuality and impact.
This course aims to give an understanding of the behaviour of colour. Students will learn how to choose limited palettes to paint a still life set-up from observation, how to interpret the colours and how to use them to bring their paintings to life.
You will explore complimentary colours, shading, neutrals, earth palettes, pale palettes, coloured grounds, hidden colours, harmony and discord amongst other theories which underpin the successful use of colour.
Students will finish this course with six completed studies of a still life set up in different palettes and an A3 booklet of colour samples that can be used as a reference for future paintings.
