During this inspiring, explorative and playful week, students will be introduced to a range of drawing activities, guiding them towards a personal project that could become part of a portfolio for application to art college.
Making work in response to a variety of subjects, including a draped model, students will look at ways of finding inspiration and thinking creatively. We will use sketchbooks as a tool to explore how artists approach researching and developing their work, and there will also be the opportunity to experiment with both two and three-dimensional processes. Then, depending on students’ own particular interests, these responses will be further developed through drawing, painting, collage, and 2 or 3D design.
This is an ideal course for anyone interested in embarking on studying art and design. Students will experience a range of activities considered to be foundational in the study of art and design and past students’ Foundation Course portfolios will be explored, with guidance given on making a successful application.
