Build an image with depth and rich surface in this mixed media Workshop.
As well as a discussion of relevant artists including Mary Cassatt and Paul Klee, there will be practical demonstrations from the tutor on inks and soft pastels throughout.
Drawing from a geometric still-life, learn how to find strong shapes and tonal differences within your chosen compositions. We will first create a series of small studies before going on to build a larger sustained piece with depth and rich surface texture. Each student will work from a limited colour palette of their choice, exploring the variety of approaches to using inks and soft pastels.
