An introduction to the ancient technique of Egg Tempera painting.
Students on this workshop will complete a finished painting using the same intricate processes exemplified in the figurative paintings of renaissance artists such as Raphael and Simone Martini, and contemporary painters such as Andrew Wyeth.
There will be practical demonstrations on the processes of making and applying the tempera, as well as tonal underpaintings, layering and glazing techniques.
Suitable for beginners and those with more experience, this workshop ensures that specific drawing and painting skills are nurtured and strengthened, and that a foundation is provided for future painting.
