Paul joined the School in 2016 to deliver the Landscape Course. He studied Graphic Design and worked in London as a Designer, before studying Painting at Edinburgh College of Art. Since then he has divided his time between teaching at Edinburgh College of Art, the University of Edinburgh Centre for Open Learning, and Edinburgh Drawing School, and continuing his own art practice.
Paul prefers to work in oils but in recent years his practice has evolved to use inks, acrylics, plaster casts, installation, print, and light boxes. His inspiration revolves around the human condition - what makes people tick. His work is representational, though not always figurative, and might involve painting in a gallery or the use of an environment. Paul exhibits widely and his work has been shown in Berlin, London and Edinburgh in recent years.
